Sweet Nothings (Choreography ; English Country Blasphemy)

Sweet Nothings
An English Country Blasphemy
(Yes, the challenge is for you to figure out why it’s blasphemous)
Sion Andreas o Wynedd
2008

Two couples in a set for four.

1A: Forward a double to meet and fall back as much, that all again ; set and turn simple.
1B: Lead your own out a double, and back in to place ; lead your corner the same.

2A: Hands four and circle left and right ; set and turn simple.
2B: Lead your own out a double, and back in to place ; lead your corner the same.

3A: Men side left and right ; all set and turn simple.
3B: Lead your own out a double, and back in to place ; lead your corner the same.

4A: Women as the men ; all set and turn simple.
4B: Lead your own out a double, and back in to place ; lead your corner the same.

5A : Arm by the right and the left ; set and turn simple.
5B: Lead your own out a double, and back in to place ; lead your corner the same.

Honour your partners all.

Musings: I’m not actually sure which I like better in the B section: “Lead out a double and back to place” or “Fall back a double and lead forward the same.” The latter would be more “Italian.” In the same way, I can see a case for the arming in the 5th set to be rights with your partner and lefts with your corner.

Oh, and the music for this dance is the music for Gracca Amorosa. Can you see the blasphemy now?
